Seminar: Core Readings in Creation Spirituality - # 60006Instructor: Alexandra Kovats, Ph.D. Faculty Bio:Alexandra has a Ph.D. in Ecological Spirituality from the Union Institute, Cincinnati, Ohio; Adjunct instructor at Seattle University in the School of Theology and Ministry; a Sister of St. Joseph of Peace; a retreat and spiritual director for over thirty years. She is committed to supporting and challenging others into a fuller and freer life of interconnectedness. Course Description: In this course we will survey some key readings in Creation Spirituality as they pertain to compassion, mysticism and embodiment in the global struggle for justice. We will explore trends which bring us to a greater awakening and awareness of our interconnectedness with all peoples and creatures. Specific themes to be explored will include the gifts of awe and compassion, mysticism and the Cosmic Christ as well as the gifts of imagination and creativity. Other topics that emerge during the class will also be considered. Required Reading:
Pre-Class Writing Assignment: Please write a 5- 8 page, double spaced paper. Please cite bibliographical references, when appropriate. Post-Class Writing Assignment: 5 -15 pages
