Creation Spirituality and Cosmology

This spring semester course deepens the student’s understanding of Creation Spirituality and Cosmology through study of the writings and books on the Creation Spiritual tradition and the new scientific understanding of the Universe Story.

Native American Traditions

This course involves the student in an experiential exploration of Native American traditions, with emphasis on spiritual practices and value systems.  Social systems and historical per-spectives will be used to understand the development of Native American traditions and spirituality.

Texts:        Required: Berry and Swimme, The Universe Story

                  Fox, Wrestling with the Prophets, chapters 1-8, 12-13, conclusion.

 

                  Recommended: Fox, Wrestling with the Prophets (remaining chapters)

                  Fox, Sins of the Spirit, Blessings of the Flesh, chapters 1-3

Papers:      8-10 page paper due Wednesday, February 25. Topic TBA.
