Matthew Fox and Artist Alex Grey in DialogueWhen: Friday, October 25, 7:00-9:00 PM Matthew Fox, Ph.D., founder and president of the University of Creation Spirituality, will engage in dialogue with Alex Grey, an artist whose paintings have appeared in venues as diverse as the album art of the musical group TOOL, covers for Newsweek magazine, a feature on the Discovery Channel, and recently in an article about his work and life in the New York Times. Fox is a renowned author and postmodern theologian, who has written 26 books including the best-selling Original Blessing; One River, Many Wells; Sins of the Spirit, Blessings of the Flesh: Lessons for Transforming Evil in Soul and Society; and The Reinvention of Work. His most recent book Creativity: Where the Divine and the Human Meet will be available in stores October 1. Grey is best known for his paintings of glowing anatomical human bodies, images that "x-ray" the multiple layers of reality and reveal the complex integration of body, mind, soul and spirit. Grey's unique series of 21 life-sized paintings, the Sacred Mirrors, present the pyhsical and subtle anatomy of an individual in the context of cosmic, biological and technological evolution.
