Course Description:
The course is consisted of a slide presentation, hands-on workshops and discussions. The workshops in painting, movement and sound provide a framework through which students will take part in a series of playful and creative actions. These actions will help participants to experience joy and the spontaneity, wonder, and challenges of creation. The slide presentation intends to inspire and show the audience the power of art in transforming people and community. Discussions will be held at various times to explore and understand how creativity contributes to personal and social change.
Course Objectives:
· To be inspired by projects that transform communities through art.
· To be in touch with one’s passion and innate creativity.
· To be ready to take action when opportunity arises.
Course Requirements: Attending all sessions in the two-day period. Participate in class discussion and activities.
Outline:
Sat. 9:00am – 12noon presentation of life work through slides and conversation
1:00pm – 3:00pm painting
3:30pm – 6:30pm discussion of the paintings, experiment with sound
Sun. 10:00am – 1:00pm experiment with sound and movement and discussion on creativity and social change
